Kibale Chimps + Bwindi Gorillas
- Day01
Entebbe – Kibale National Park
Pick up from your Entebbe hotel or the airport in the morning and drive to Kibale National Park, a 5–6 hour drive through the scenic Ugandan countryside. The route passes through the equator and the rolling tea plantations of Fort Portal. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its birdlife and community-run conservation. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
- Day02
Chimp Trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the Kibale park headquarters for your chimp trekking briefing. The 1–3 hour trek through the lush rainforest takes you to one of the habituated chimpanzee communities. Once found, you will spend one hour with the chimps, observing their behaviour. Return to the lodge for lunch, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (4–5 hours). Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner.
- Day03
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for your pre-trekking briefing. The trek can take 2–8 hours through the ancient rainforest. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour with them. Return to the lodge for dinner and a well-earned rest.
- Day04
Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda's most beautiful lakes. The lake is fringed by terraced hills and dotted with 29 small islands. Spend the afternoon canoeing, swimming, or visiting one of the local communities. Dinner and overnight at the lakeside lodge.
- Day05
Lake Bunyonyi – Entebbe
After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe, with a stop at the equator for photos. Arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon. Depending on your international flight schedule, you may have time to relax at a day room or transfer directly to the airport for your onward journey.
