Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Day01
Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Pick up from your Entebbe hotel or the airport in the morning and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. On arrival, your driver-guide will transfer you to your lodge, with a community walk or nature walk in the afternoon depending on your arrival time. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
- Day02
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for your pre-trekking briefing. You will be assigned to one of the 19 habituated gorilla groups and a team of trackers and rangers. The trek can take 2–8 hours through the ancient rainforest, climbing steep slopes and pushing through dense vegetation. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour with them. Return to the lodge for dinner and a well-earned rest.
- Day03
Bwindi – Community Walk or Second Trek
Today you have the option of a second gorilla trek (subject to permit availability) or a guided community walk through the surrounding villages. The community walk includes visits to a local school, a traditional healer, a banana beer brewery, and a blacksmith. The Batwa people, the original forest dwellers, share their culture through dance and storytelling. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
- Day04
Bwindi – Entebbe
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Depending on your international flight schedule, you may have time to relax at a day room in Entebbe or transfer directly to the airport for your onward journey.
